Service Projects

Soroptimist International of Ashland actively sponsors and members participate in a variety of hands-on service projects. From one-day events to long-term involvement, members find ways to help that suit their personalities, talents, and schedules.

Soroptimist Strong Girls, Strong Women

SI-Ashland’s signature project, SSGSW, In partnership with Helman Elementary School, is designed to empower and build self-esteem and confidence in girls in grades K-5 through our Lunch Buddy program and STEM, career awareness, and environmental stewardship classes.

By supporting health programs that prevent and treat major diseases and negative conditions that affect women and girls locally and around the world, SI-Ashland helps improve conditions that keep women and girls from achieving their goals.

We also support local efforts to protect and enhance our physical environment, including a twice annual trash clean-up  on East Main Road in Ashland.

Human Rights

The SI-Ashland Human Rights and Status of Women committee works to promote and raise awareness of basic human rights for women and girls. This includes joining with domestic and international organizations to respond to acute needs and provide support for response and prevention efforts.
